You may have some questions regarding the Church and how one becomes a member. Please see below:
HOW DOES A PERSON BECOME A MEMBER OF DARWIN COMMUNITY CHURCH?
A person becomes a member of Darwin Community Church who has professed faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and has shown evidence of repentance by a public confession of Jesus Christ as the Son of God and Saviour, and who has been baptized by immersion, and is living a consistent Christian life and who is in agreement with the Church's Statement of Faith and acceptance of the Church's constitution.
IF I ACCEPT THIS WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?
The Pastor will interview you and answer any questions you may have and if you wish to proceed will make a recommendation to the Church body to accept you into membership.
A letter of recommendation can be sent from a previous church endorsing your application for membership and will be considered.
IS BAPTISM NECESSARY ?
Before being accepted as members of Darwin Community Church, applicants must:
1. Be baptized believers in Jesus Christ.
While baptism does not save a person nor make him a member of the church, this basic commandment from our Lord is required of those who desire membership.
2. Live a life-style that does not contradict their profession of faith.
No one is expected to be sinless. If however a person is living in a life-style of sin, that life-style must be addressed before being received into membership. An example of this would be if a person was living with a boyfriend or girlfriend without the committement of marriage
