Friday Night Youth
On Friday evenings our youth meet at the Darwin Community at 7.30. Ages are from 13 and up. Our aim is to present a balanced program that is designed to meet and implement some of our objectives listed below.
OBJECTIVES:
- To prepare our young people to walk with Jesus Christ.
- To help our youth to understand God's purpose and will in and through Jesus Christ and respond to Him in a personal commitment of faith and to follow in His footsteps as a disciple.
- To enable our young people to share their personal faith in Jesus Christ with confidence and assurance.
- To encourage our young people to develop a personal and meaningful devotional life through prayer and Bible reading.
- To empower our young people to experience and be involved in worship both private and congregational.
- To help our young people to grow in understanding and acceptance of self by affirming them, teaching positive Biblical truths of self image, equipping them to use their God given abilities through leadership training and mentorship.
- To empower our young people in the stewardship of their time, talents, and money through positive examples.
- To help our young people have a Biblical worldview rather than a worldview that is marred by sin, and teach them how to connect with people holding a different worldview from their own.
- To help them become citizens that are part of a community in which they have a positive role contributions to make, and to accept the responsibility for their own actions.
- To help them build meaningful relationships within their families and with the opposite sex.
- To provide positive examples of leadership that can be modelled through mature adults that are willing to be involved with our young people in discipleship.
